MMM Magic.

Maison Martin Margiela was founded in Paris by the namesake Belgian designer. Martin Margiela graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. It never occurred to me that there has never been a published interview with Martin Margiela until I read about it in H&M's winter 2012 magazine. It was one of those "you know what, you're right" moments. Blessing the closets of fashion stylist, celebrities, musicians, and now everyday fashion obsessives like myself.  In a very rare meeting H&M Magazine was gratefully granted the access to the Paris headquarters of Maison Martin Margiela. They were given the awesome opportunity to talk to the representative of the Maison in person. In case you haven't yet had the pleasure of picking up a copy of this magazine, I'll give you all a brief summary of the MMM background. Maison Martin Margiela made its mark during the S/S 1989 season. As soon as the house started making its name known, it created a storm. According to H&M Magazine, in the years that followed, Margiela went against the fashion grain by refusing to grant a single interview or be photographed for any publication. He was fashion's "invisible man".
"The label without a logo, the fact that the designer isn't visible, the spaces decorated in white tones - all allow the product to stand out even more strongly. The rest is not important. The models are not important, the designer is not important. These people exist as human beings, but they are behind the product." - The Maison.
I love the dedication that this fashion house entails  I love that more than anything they want their designs to get the credit for being wonderful. It doesn't matter who put it together, all that matters is that the message and the importance of the garment is recognized respectfully and with class.
Margiela has always been a fashion house that I was attracted to, but now after reading this article and doing my own personal research I have a much greater respect and love for this label as well as the "invisible man" behind the magic.
